So, I officially debuted by Iron Man costume on March 8th 2014 at Tora-Con.
I’ll be posting some photos we got from walking around, and I’ll also be posting photos from a photoshoot we did that really show off the costume!
I learned a lot from this build, one thing being especially RIG THE BUTT. I’m sure anyone who hung out with me heard my butt complaints. A simple suspender-type rig or even clips into the chestpiece would have saved me a lot of grief and penguin waddling and yanking on that stupid codpiece.
Another being that foam doesn’t last forever. Maybe an idea for the future would be to harden it with something like wood glue or skip the foam and try worbla.
But other than that, I’m pretty happy with the reception it got and I hope to fix it up and wear it to another con!
"Oh, yeah, I’ll edit your Loki pictures!"
*Plans to fix up complexion and a little bit of lighting*
*Gets completely off track and decides to edit in the frickin’ bifrost*
whY DO I ALWAYS MAKE MORE WORK FOR MYSELF
NOW I GOTTA CHANGE THE LIGHTING AND THE SHADOWS AND THE BACKGROUND
But seriously, photo editing is so much fun. The best part of cons for me is probably the new photos!
Hey! Your friendly neighborhood Iron Man here!
(wait, wrong superhero…)
I was the only IM both days and I was totally blown away with how many people liked the costume! It got some, let’s say, battle damage on Sunday because let’s face it, foam can only do so much in the cold weather.
If anyone got any photos of me I’ll probably be reblogging the ones you post (and I really encourage you to post them! I’d love to see all the photos people took of the costume!) all this evening.
Again, thanks for the amazing reception and fun convention experience!
